What’s cookin’, good lookin’? Giggling Gourmet Jenny Morris will be teaming up with Magdalene Lekay, resident chef at Kingsriver Wine Estate, to cook up a storm during the fourth annual Robertson Slow Food Festival (6 - 8 August). Jenny Morris is renowned for serving mouth-watering meals for the likes of Thabo Mbeki, Charlize Theron and Prince Charles. Patrons are no doubt in for a treat.
The pair will explore the heritage of South African food using the finest of local ingredients, including award-winning clotted cream from Langvallei Farm in Robertson, each course has been designed to be paired with South Africa wine.
You can look forward to a Dutch culinary experience given that Ruud De Clercq, owner of the Kingsriver Estate, originally from the Netherlands, will be sharing some Dutch culinary secrets.
Kingsriver Wine Estate will kick off the Robertson Slow Food Festival with a spit braai on Friday 6 August and will be serving delicious slow cooked meals in its restaurant throughout the weekend.
On the evenings of Friday and Saturday we will also have a return visit by the fire dancers, with the promise of more of their spectacular entertainment.
