Adopt - a - Vine
Established in 1838, and one of the oldest farms in the region, the Kingsriver Estate Vineyard is situated in the Breede River Valley - an area of remarkable beauty and tranquillity. Nestled in the Langeberg mountains, the estate comprises of some 30 hectares of vineyards and is surrounded by 380 hectares of magnificent unspoiled Karoo Fynbos, hiding on Route 62, between the historical villages of McGregor and Robertson, a region known for its exceptional terroir by ‘Winemakers in the Know’.
Due to its unique position, Kingsriver Estate enjoys a low rainfall and warm climate, which are perfect for growing the grapes that we have used which produce some of South Africa’s finest wines and we are happy to announce that you now have the opportunity to become part of this wonderful winemakers’ community without having to fork out a fortune. From as little as R2 500 you can adopt your own row of vines, and make and bottle your own barrel of Shiraz, Ruby Cabernet or your very own unique blend.
You will automatically become a member of our exclusive Vine Club, which provides you with a wide range of benefits, including wine tastings and dinners, vineyard lunches and Harvest celebrations, where you will crush your own grapes, and all in the company of fellow wine enthusiasts.
On joining our Club, you will receive a gift pack which will include the following:
The level of involvement in the process is entirely up to you. If you choose to be a ‘sleeping’ parent to your vine, we will inform you of the decisions you will have to make at which times - of course, being guided by our wine maker all the way.

You could also decide to get down and dirty and come and join the fun with a Weekend Vineyard Experience. The day starts gently at 10am with tea and coffee served in the Estate restaurant, its then time to put on your Kingsriver Estate overalls and Wellington boots and venture into the vineyards. After an enjoyable tractor tour, accompanied by historical stories of one of the oldest farms in the region, you will help with whatever tasks may be taking place at that time of year. On returning to the winery a tutored wine tasting with our wine maker will take place, followed by a leisurely lunch in our elegant restaurant. Your host will introduce our wines to accompany the meal and will explain how they were made, covering the various areas of wine production, be it blending, on the bottling line, labeling, filtering or monitoring fermentations. With 50% education and 100% fun, It’s a great way to enjoy wine, and get to know the vineyards that produce it. |
